Sensex Below 19500, Tata Steel Down 6%

The Indian markets continued to move lower after the morning session. Selling was mainly seen in the Metals and Capital Goods stocks after mid-session. The Nifty is trading down by 72 points at 5760 and Sensex has lost 250 points to move to 19477.
The Indian markets continued to move lower after the morning session. Selling was mainly seen in the Metals and Capital Goods stocks after mid-session. The Nifty is trading down by 72 points at 5760 and Sensex has lost 250 points to move to 19477. The indices are trading lower between 1.28%-1.30%.
The advance-decline ratio remains in the negatives. On the NSE, 1382 shares are in the green and 1953 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: HCL Tech is leading the gainers list so far, up by 2.07%. Wipro, Sun Pharma, Lupin and HUL are also in gains.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Tata Steel has dipped by 6.4%, followed by BHEL, NMDC, ICICI Bank and Coal India.
Among the sectoral indices, Bankex is the top loser, down by 258 points. Metals and Consumer Durables have lost 230 points each, and Oil & Gas is down 128 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are also in negatives, down by 34 points and 25 points respectively.
In the Asian markets, the Hang Seng has lost 347 points so far and Nikkei is trading 309 points lower. Taiwan and KOSPI are also in the red zone.
Buzzer: Tata Steel has witnessed a free fall its stock prices today. The scrip has not been able to sustain above Rs 300 over the past few days. In today’s session, the stock broke the technical level of Rs 275. If it closes below this level, it may see more of a downfall.
Nifty Futures took support at the 5785 mark. If the index manages to hold this level going ahead, it may close above 5820.
