Nifty Ends At Day’s High, DLF Gains 6.9%

The Indian markets managed to hold their gains after the morning session today and closed at the day’s high. The Nifty was up by 33 points at 5768 and Sensex was 110 points higher at 19490. Both the indices closed higher between 0.56%-0.58%.

The advance-decline ratio remained positive until the closing session. On the NSE, 1342 shares closed in the green zone, while 1009 shares ended the day in red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: DLF saw the highest gains on the index, up by 6.9%. Ranbaxy Labs, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank and IDFC were among the others that ended higher.

Tata Power crashed by 4.07% today. Sesa Goa, NTPC, ONGC and BPCL also remained in negatives.

All the sectoral indices except for Metals and Oil & Gas closed in the green zone. Bankex and Capital Goods gained around 292 points and 117 points respectively, while Auto finished 99 points higher. The Mid-Cap and Small-Cap indices also remained in the green.

In the Asian markets, the Nikkei ended 28 points higher. The Taiwan and KOSPI indices too remained in the green zone.

Buzzer: DLF rallied up by 6.9%, making an intraday high of Rs 137 today. If the scrip opens above this level tomorrow, it may move to Rs 140.

Nifty Futures closed above the technical level of 5820. 5770 will be a major support ahead.
