Powergrid Corp Sees Higher Income, Profits In Q2FY14

In the elapsed quarter, the company’s sales scaled up 27% to Rs 4104 crore, while the bottomline rose 10% at Rs 1239 crore.


Power Grid Corporation of India, a 'Navratna' company and the Central Transmission Utility of the country announced its results for the quarter ended September 30, 2013. The company has posted a net profit of Rs 1239 crore, an increase of 10% against Rs 1126 crore during the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2012.

Its total income for the second quarter rose to Rs 4101 crore, up by 27% from Rs 3243 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The revenues rose by 25% at Rs 3713 crore for the period. The debt-to-equity ratio of the company stands at 73:27.

At present, Power Grid Corporation is operating more than 102100 circuit kilometers of transmission lines, along with sub-stations and transformation capacity of about 172370 MVA. It has an inter-regional power transmission capacity of about 31850 MW. The average availability during the quarter was maintained at 99.90%.
