Nifty Volatile, Capital Goods 1.5% Lower

The Indian markets showed volatility in the closing session today, with Capital Goods, Auto and Metals seeing most of the selling. Nifty ended 19 points down at 6144 and Sensex was 41 points lower at 20683.
The Indian markets showed volatility in the closing session today. Most of the selling happened in the Capital Goods, Auto and Metals sectors. Nifty ended 19 points down at 6144 and Sensex was 41 points lower at 20683. The indices have lost between -0.20%-0.32% for the day.
The advance-decline ratio has ended in negatives. On the NSE, 1398 shares are in the green and 1759 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: TCS closed the day with the highest gains on the index, up 2.9%. HCL Tech, Wipro, Sesa Sterlite and NTPC were among the others that ended higher.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: DLF was down by 4.97% today. Hindalco, NMDC, Cairn India and Tata Steel were among the others that ended lower.
Most of the sectoral indices were in the red zone by closing. Capital Goods was the top loser, down by 145 points. Auto and Metals moved down by 141 points and 110 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps also ended in red zone. Only IT and Consumer Durables managed to close positive, gaining 128 points and 14 points respectively.
In the Asian markets, the Nikkei ended lower by 398 points, while Hang Seng closed down by 137 points. Taiwan Weighted, KOSPI and Shanghai Composite also ended in negatives.
Buzzer: The stock of DLF, one of the largest realty companies in India, lost 4.9% today. It broke all the major supports and closed below the technical level of Rs 155. If it sustains below this level, it may see more negative trades in the next few days.
Going ahead, Nifty Futures has a pivot level of 6150. This level will decide further moves for the index.
