Trades Open On A Flat Note

The Indian markets opened flat, positive today. Currently, Nifty is trading up by 15 points at 6256 and Sensex is up 39 points at 20996. The positivity was led by buying seen in index heavyweights like ONGC, ITC, TCS, L&T, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and Sun Pharma. Auto is leading the sectoral indices.

The positivity was led by buying seen in index heavyweights like ONGC, ITC, TCS, L&T, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and Sun Pharma. Currently, Nifty is trading up by 15 points at 6256 and Sensex is up 39 points to trade at 20996. Both indices opened up in the range of 0.20-0.15%.
The advance-decline ratio is similarly flat-to-positive. On the NSE, 1648 shares are trading in gains and 1585 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: Hero MotoCorp is the top gainer in today’s morning session, up by 2.88%. BHEL, Power Grid Corp, ONGC and Coal India are among the others leading the gains.
Top Nifty Losers: After closing as the highest gaining stock yesterday, IDFC has dipped by 1.42%, followed by Wipro, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank and JP Associates.
Among the sectoral indices, Auto is the top gainer this morning, up by 127 points. Consumer Durables is up by 105 points and Oil & Gas has gained 43 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are also trading with a positive bias, higher by 32 points and 24 points respectively.
The global markets are trading on a mixed note. Nikkei is the top gainer for so far, up by 66 points, and Taiwan Weighted is up by 23 points. KOSPI and Straits Times are trading nominally in negatives.
Buzzer: Jubilant Life Sciences has seen a continuous fall since yesterday. Today, the stock declined nearly 8%, touching a low of Rs 116.01 in early trades. The US drug regulator has issued a warning letter with regard to its facility in the US.
Nifty Futures is trading above its support level of 6250 at 6290. The index may be seen in the range of 6280-6300 today.
