Post Market Summary
The Indian markets after trading on a soft note for the earlier part of the day witnessed some buying interest after the release of the monetary policy to close the day on a positive note. The main gainer for the day is the Auto index which closed the day after gaining more than two percentage points followed by the Realty index gaining nearly one and half percentage points. The main dragger for the day is the Capital Goods index as it closed the day declining nearly two percentage points. The Sensex closed the day in green gaining 57.56 points or 0.32 percentage points to close at 18,077.61. Nifty ends the day at 5430.60 gaining 12 points or 0.22 percentage points. Market breadth was negative with 1,375 advances against 1,515 declines on BSE. On the global front, European stocks rose for a sixth day as UBS AG and Deutsche Bank AG reported earnings that beat estimates the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision softened some of its proposed capital rules. Asian shares and U.S. index futures advanced.
