Trades Still Volatile

There has been no let-up in market volatility so far. Nifty is down by 4 points at 6189 and Sensex has lost 30 points to move to 20755.
Volatility persists in the markets, with no short covering taking place in the current scenario. Nifty is down by 4 points at 6189 and Sensex has lost 30 points to move to 20755. The indices are trading lower by 0.15% each.
The advance-decline ratio is flat, negative. On the NSE, 1431 shares are in the green and 1436 shares are in red.
Top Nifty Gainers: Maruti Suzuki is leading the gainers list so far, up by 2.28%. Dr Reddy’s Labs, Sun Pharma, BHEL and L&T are also trading higher.
Top Nifty Losers: Bank of Baroda is down by 2.75%, followed by Tata Power, Tata Steel, Hindalco and Axis Bank.
The sectoral indices have seen some up-move, with only 4 out of 13 sectors in negatives at this hour. Metal is down by 99 points, Oil & Gas was down 80 points and IT has dipped 69 points. Mid-Caps have lost 43 points and Small-Caps are currently in gains of 38 points.
In the Asian markets, Nikkei is the top loser, down by 94 points. On the other side, Hang Seng is up by 28 points. Straits Times and Taiwan Weighted are also trading on a positive note.
Buzzer: The stock of Aban Offshore has risen over 8% to record a 52-week high at Rs 438.35 today on the back of heavy volumes.
Nifty Futures is trading above its support at the 6210 level.
