Market Trades In Positive Zone, Sensex Up By 128 Points

Following the trail from the morning session the Indian markets rallied to cross the psychological level on both Nifty and BSE. The 50 share Nifty index was up by 23 points at 6223 and the 30 share Sensex was up by 128 points to trade at 20980. All the sectoral indices are hovering in positive territory except metals which is down by 144 points. Asian markets remain positive.
The Indian markets are trading in green in mid trading session. Presently, the Nifty is trading up by 23 points at 6223 and the Sensex is up by 128 points at 20980. Both the indices are trading higher by more than 0.44% each.
On the NSE, the advance-decline ratio is negative with 1606 advances and 1639 declines.
Top Nifty Gainers: GAIL is leading the gainers list so far and is up by 3.20%. It is followed by BPCL, Kotak Mahindra, Ambuja Cements and Sun Pharma.
Top Nifty Losers: NMDC is leading the losers list so far and is down by 3.27%. It is followed by Sesa Sterlite, Tata Steel, Jaiprakash Asso and DLF.
On the sectoral front, all sectoral indices are trading in positively except Metals. Capital Good is the top gainer trading higher by 109 points. It is followed by Auto and Healthcare which are up by 55 points and 54 points respectively. Metal is down by 144 points. Mid-caps and Small-caps are positively higher by 3 points and 13 points respectively.
The Asian markets continued to maintain their momentum. Hang Seng is up by 148 points. Taiwan Index is up by 25 points, KOSPI too is trading on a positive note. However the Nikkei and Straits Times are down by 80 points and 18 points respectively.
Buzzer: Metal and Mining stocks declined. NMDC (down 3.27%), Hindustan Zinc (down 2.24%), JSW Steel (down 0.63%), Tata Steel (down 1.58%), Sesa Sterlite (down 2.81%), Hindustan Copper (down 0.43%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 1.18%).
Today Nifty Futures are trading at 6226 level.
