Markets Trading In Volatile Zone, Sensex Makes A New Fresh High

The first day of the week opened amid some volatility. Benchmark indices swung between positive and negative terrain near the flat line after regaining strength. Asian markets are trading with negative sentiments due to weak global cues. Nifty is currently with a negative bias of 11 points at 6514 and the BSE Sensex is down by 44 points to trade at 21882. HDFC bank jumped up by 1. 90%  after hitting a 52 week high of Rs 735.

After opening lower at the start of trading, Indian markets turned positive, only to slip again into the red zone. This showing signs of volatility. The Nifty is currently trading with a negative bias of 11 points at 6514 and Sensex is down 44 points at 21882. Both indices trading lower in the range of 0.21%-0.18%. The BSE Sensex today touched a new high at 22,005 in the morning trade.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning session. On the NSE, 1679 shares are trading in gains and 1649 shares are down.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: IDFC is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 2.33%, followed by BHEL, DLF, IndusInd Bank and Larsen.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Ranbaxy Labs is down by 2.79% as of now. Tata Motors, Hindalco, BPCL and TCS are also trading lower.

On sectoral front, 7 out of the 13 sectoral indices are trading in the green zone. Capital Goods was the highest gainer, up by 203 points, followed by Bankex, up by 71 points, and Oil and gas which have gained 57 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are both are in green and trading up by 14 points and 25 points respectively. Among those in the red, Metal indices and IT were down by 112 points and 102 points respectively. 

The Asian shares are reflecting a negative sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top loser this morning, down by 363 points. Nikkei has also dipped by 147 points. Taiwan Weighted and KOSPI are also down.

Buzzer: HDFC Bank, stock opened at Rs 705 and jumped nearly 1.90% after hitting a 52 week record high of Rs 735.

The Nifty is trading at the 6537 level, 6500 will be a major support for further trading sessions.
