Markets Choppy, Indices Swinging Between Green And Red, FII Inflow Boosts Sentiments

Indian markets after making new highs in the last trading session is in a state of volatility in today’s morning session. All the key indices seem to be directional less at the moment. Sentiments though turned slightly positive as the FIIs data showed a heavy purchase of Indian stocks worth Rs 1,253.63 crore on Monday. At the current hour the Bombay Stock Exchange is down by 34 points at 21899 and the Nifty is lower by 24 points to trade at 6517. Rupee is trading flat at Rs 60.79 against one USD, yesterday’s closing value was Rs 60.84.

Since the last few days, the Indian markets have been witnessing extreme volatility. Indices seem directionless at current levels. As a result, the Nifty is  trading at 6517, lower by 24 points. The Sensex was down by 34 points at 21899. Both indices are trading lower in the range of 0.22% each.

The Indian rupee opened flat at Rs 60.79 per USD on Tuesday as against Monday's closing value of 60.84.

The advance-decline ratio is towards positive in the morning session. On the NSE, 1714 shares were trading with gains while 1617 shares were down.

Top Nifty Gainers: Tata Power is the top gainer so far today and it has appreciated by 3.73%. It is followed by ICICI Bank, TCS, Wipro and HCL Tech.

Top Nifty Losers: Tata Steel is top loser for the morning session. It is trading down by 4.35%. It is followed by Hindalco, Sesa Sterlite, Jindal Steel, M&M.

On the sectoral front, all sectors are trading in the red, except IT. IT has been the top gainer as it has appreciated by 69 points.  Metals and Oil & Auto are trading lower by 265 points and 101 points respectively. Mid-caps down in the range of 8 points and small-caps are up in the range of 8 points.

On the global front, Asian shares are trading on a positive sentiment. Nikkei is the top gainer and is trading higher by 62 points, it is followed by Hang Seng which is trading higher by 43 points.

Buzzers: Larsen and Toubro, hits 52-week high touching to Rs 1255.85, after company announced its construction division won new orders worth Rs 2935 crore.

Nifty future has consolidated in the range of 6530- 6547. If it manages to cross current level, we may see some more upward movement.
