Index Hovering In Positive Zone

Indian markets opened on a positive note this morning, led by gains in Metals and Power sector. The 30 share BSE Sensex opened up by a nominal 8 points at 21747, while the 50 share Nifty index is up by 7 points to trade at 6489. Sentiments were boosted by foreign funds data which showed FIIs bought shares worth Rs 722 crore. Indian rupee is trading higher by 31 paise at Rs 61.03 against per dollar, the previous day’s closing value was Rs 61.34.
The Indian markets opened with a positive sentiment after witnessing a pull back on yesterday’s closing. The global scenario is also helpful for the index. Nifty is up by 7 points to 6489 and the Sensex by 8 points to 21747. Both indices opened up in the range of 0.11%.
The INR opened higher by 31 paise at 61.03 per USD on Friday as against previous day's closing value of 61.34 a USD.
The advance-decline ratio has is on the positive side in the morning session today. On the NSE, 1921 shares are trading in gains and 1431 shares are down.
Top Nifty Gainers: Power Grid Corp is the top gainer for today’s morning session and is up by 2.67%. It is followed by Wipro, DLF, Bank of Baroda and Hindalco.
Top Nifty Losers: Asian Paints is the top loser for today’s morning session and is trading lower by 1.42%. It is followed by ONGC, Reliance, Sun Pharma and Coal India.
On the sectoral front, 11 out of 13 sectors are trading in the green. Metals are the top gainer this morning up by 90 points. It was followed by Auto and Bankex, which were up by 79 points and 74 points respectively. Mid-caps and small-caps also traded with a positive bias. They were higher by 69 points and 46 points respectively, this morning.
Global Market also saw buying in the morning session. The Hang Seng is the top gainer for so far as it is trading up by 100 points. It is followed by the Shanghai Composite, which is up by 18 points. The KOSPI and the Straits Times too are trading with a positive bias. However Nikkei is down by 238 points.
Buzzers: Power Grid Corp stock opened on positive sentiment and surged more than 3%. The scrip made intraday high at Rs 102.50.
Nifty Future is trading at 6520 level. If it sustains above this level one can expect a closing at near 6540-6560.
