Nifty Hovers Around 6700 Mark

The RBI by keeping the policy rates unchanged has had no major affect on the Indian markets, as it consolidated in wide range in the mid trading session. The CNX Nifty is down by 5 points at 6698 and the BSE 30 is lower by 15 points to trade at 22367. The advance decline ration is on the positive side.
The Indian markets witnessed some consolidation in a wide range in mid-session. Nifty is trading down by 5 points at 6698 and Sensex is 15 points lower at 22367. The indices are trading negative between 0.08%-0.06%.
The advance-decline ratio is positive. On the NSE, 1743 shares are in the green and 1633 shares are in red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Cairn India is leading the gainers list so far, up by 3.15%. Power Grid Corp, Wipro, TCS and Sesa Sterlite are also in the green.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Kotak Mahindra is down by 3.05%, followed by BPCL, Asian Paints, Maruti Suzuki and Hindalco.
On sectoral fronts, 10 out of 13 sectors are trading in the green zone. IT is top gainer so far trading higher by 147 points. Bankex is the top loser, down by 217 points. Mid-Caps down by 40 points, however Small-Caps gained some marginal to flattish points.
The Asian markets are trading on positive note since morning today. Hang Seng is the top gainer so far, up by 297 points. Straits Times and Taiwan also remained in the green. However Nikkei is down by 35 points.
Buzzer: Sugar stocks, Dhampur Sugar Mills (up 8.02%), Bajaj Hindusthan (up 6.29%), Sakthi Sugars (up 5.13%), Balrampur Chini Mills (up 4.67%), Shree Renuka Sugars (up 2.43%), Simbhaoli Sugar Mills (up 4.74%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (up 4.74%) gained.
Nifty has a major support at the 6680- 6655 level and resistance at 6770- 6800. The markets are hoping for some recovery from the current levels to 6737.
