NTPC Green Energy 250 MW Solar Project Approved
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), will develop a 250 MW solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on vacant defence land at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh.
The project has been approved by Hon'ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and is being described as the first large-scale solar power project with integrated battery storage specifically designed to strengthen the energy security of defence establishments.
Power To Be Supplied To Defence Establishments
The electricity generated from the project will be supplied to various defence establishments across Uttar Pradesh.
The project combines utility-scale solar generation with integrated battery storage infrastructure, enabling improved reliability and a more stable power supply. The inclusion of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is expected to support round-the-clock energy availability and enhance renewable energy utilisation for strategic installations.
Project To Supply Renewable Power To Defence Establishments

The company disclosed the development under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
