Cyient Approves Rs 720 Crore Buyback
Cyient Limited has approved the buyback of up to 64 lakh fully paid-up equity shares having a face value of Rs 5 each at a buyback price of Rs 1,125 per share, representing an aggregate consideration of up to Rs 720 crore. The buyback size represents up to 5.76 per cent of the company's existing paid-up equity share capital.
The proposal was approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 23, 2026, and subsequently received shareholder approval through a special resolution passed via postal ballot on June 10, 2026.
Cyient Record Date Fixed
The company has fixed June 17, 2026, as the record date for determining eligible shareholders who can participate in the buyback. The repurchase will be undertaken through the Tender Offer route, with eligible shareholders being entitled to participate on a proportionate basis, subject to reservation provisions applicable to small shareholders under SEBI regulations.
The buyback price of Rs 1,125 per share is at a significant premium to the current market price, making the corporate action noteworthy for investors evaluating participation in the offer.
Cyient Public Announcement Issued
Cyient stated that the public announcement relating to the buyback was published on June 12, 2026 in English, Hindi and Telugu newspapers in India and was also published in The Washington Post in the United States. The announcement has been made available on the websites of the company, Axis Capital, BSE and NSE.
The company clarified that the buyback has not yet commenced and that detailed information regarding participation will be provided through the Letter of Offer to eligible shareholders as of the record date.

As of the March 2026 quarter, FII shareholding increased to 15.33 per cent from 15.28 per cent, while DII shareholding rose to 40.97 per cent from 39.50 per cent, indicating increased institutional ownership in the company.
