At full capacity, the plant is expected to generate annual sales in the range of Rs 700 to Rs 750 crore and create over 300 jobs.
H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd has inaugurated India’s largest aluminium solar panel frame manufacturing facility at Chibhda village, Rajkot, Gujarat. The plant, spanning 28,000 sq. metres, was formally opened by Shri C. R. Patil, Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, in the presence of senior government officials and company executives.
The facility has an annual production capacity of 24,000 metric tonnes (MT), which can support solar installations of up to 6 Gigawatts (GW). H&H Aluminium has invested around Rs 150 crore in this state-of-the-art facility, and commercial production is expected to begin within a month following the commencement of trial production in June 2025.
Currently, India imports 90 to 95 per cent of its aluminium frames used in solar panels. This domestic facility aims to reduce dependency on imports, particularly from China, which has seen a recent imposition of anti-dumping duties. On September 29, 2024, the Government of India imposed a five-year anti-dumping duty ranging from $403 to $577 per MT (around 14 per cent) on anodized aluminium frames imported from China to protect domestic manufacturers.
At full capacity, the plant is expected to generate annual sales in the range of Rs 700 to Rs 750 crore and create over 300 jobs. The aluminium frames produced at the facility meet ASTM and IEC standards and are compliant with RoHS and REACH guidelines, making them 100 per cent recyclable and free from hazardous substances. The plant includes SCADA and IoT-enabled production lines for real-time monitoring, a zero-liquid discharge anodizing setup, and a fully equipped R&D lab for product customization.
Mr. Vijay Kaneria, Director, H&H Aluminium Pvt Ltd, said, “India has achieved a historic milestone of 100 GW solar power capacity in 2025. In addition, the government has set an ambitious target to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with a significant portion, approximately 280 GW, expected to come from solar power. This represents a huge opportunity for solar power and allied industries over the next 5-10 years.”
