Lemon Tree Hotels Limited announced signing of a new property in Tamil Nadu under the Lemon Tree Hotel brand.
The upcoming Lemon Tree Hotel, Kumbakonam, will feature 66 rooms and will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.
With this addition, the company’s portfolio in Tamil Nadu will increase to eight hotels, including six operational and two upcoming properties.
Lemon Tree Hotels Focuses on Heritage And Spiritual Tourism
Kumbakonam is recognised as one of South India’s major heritage and spiritual tourism destinations and attracts pilgrims, cultural travellers and business visitors throughout the year.
The company stated that increasing transit movement and improving regional connectivity are driving demand for quality branded hospitality infrastructure in the region.
The proposed hotel will offer multiple amenities including a multi-cuisine restaurant, banquet facilities, business meeting room, swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.
The property is located around 101 km from Tiruchirappalli International Airport and approximately 300 metres from Kumbakonam Railway Station.

Lemon Tree Hotels Expansion Strategy
The signing aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding across high-potential Tier II and Tier III cities and strengthening its presence across important tourism, economic and transit corridors.
As of March 31, 2025, Lemon Tree Hotels operated 111 hotels with 10,269 rooms and had a pipeline of 101 hotels with 6,847 rooms across India and international markets including Nepal and Bhutan.
Lemon Tree Hotels Stock Performance
Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd shares were trading at Rs 117.30 during Tuesday’s afternoon session, up 0.51 per cent from the previous close of Rs 116.70.
The stock has declined around 15.80 per cent over the past one year and 19.77 per cent over two years, while delivering returns of around 22.79 per cent over the last three years. The stock’s 52-week high and low stood at Rs 177.90 and Rs 100.45, respectively.
