Secures Rs 530.80 Crore Power Distribution Contracts from MSEDCL Across Nashik and Kolhapur Zones
VEL has secured two Letters of Award (LoAs) aggregating to Rs 530.80 crore (excluding GST) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for distribution infrastructure and system strengthening works in Maharashtra.
The contracts, awarded under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded Power Distribution Enhancement Program through National Competitive Bidding, span the Nashik and Kolhapur zones. The Nashik Zone contract is valued at Rs 235.63 crore, while the Kolhapur Zone contract stands at Rs 295.17 crore, both excluding GST. Each project is scheduled for completion within 21 months from the date of the respective LoA.
The scope of work under both contracts is on a turnkey basis, covering site survey, planning, design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, supply, transportation, installation, commissioning and documentation, including civil works.
The projects include the development of new 33/11 kV, 22/11 kV and 33/22 kV substations, new 33 kV, 22 kV and 11 kV transmission lines, augmentation of power Transformers and substations, renovation works, installation of distribution transformers, LT lines, HT/LT underground cabling, and GIS mapping and asset tagging.
