HCLFoundation Signs MoU with Uttar Pradesh Government

HCLFoundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of HCLTech, has partnered with the Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the Swachh Bharat Mission to improve urban sanitation and waste management across the three cities. The collaboration will focus on strategic planning, pilot projects, policy and process reforms, and deployment of IT-enabled solutions to build efficient and sustainable municipal waste management systems.

Technology-Led Waste Management Initiatives

As part of the initiative, HCLFoundation flagged off 10 e-drain carts and 10 e-garbage loaders donated to the Hardoi Nagar Palika Parishad. The foundation also inaugurated three reverse vending machines to encourage structured plastic waste collection and recycling. In addition, city beautification work has been undertaken through wall art, while three markets and three wards in Hardoi will be developed as model markets and model wards.

Extending the 'My Clean City' Programme

The partnership expands HCLFoundation's flagship My Clean City programme, which was extended to Agra, Hardoi and Prayagraj during FY26. Launched in 2018, the programme promotes science-based waste management and citizen participation to improve urban sanitation.

Since its launch, the initiative has sensitised nearly 7.5 lakh citizens, trained over 1 lakh stakeholders on waste management practices, managed more than 22,000 tonnes of waste, and engaged over 3,500 students through the MCC Waste Champions Club.
