RRP Defense Secures Rs 64.31 Crore BEL Order

RRP Defense has secured a manufacturing contract worth Rs 64.31 crore (inclusive of GST) from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the supply of 16,035 MEPRO X6 Day Sights. The order marks another milestone under the Government's Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat initiatives by strengthening indigenous Defence manufacturing capabilities.

The MEPRO X6 is a compact 6× telescopic day sight designed for precision target acquisition and reliable battlefield performance. It features an illuminated reticle, offers an effective engagement range of up to 1,000 metres, complies with MIL-STD standards, and is designed for use on assault rifles and light machine guns.

RRP Defense 100 per cent Indigenous Manufacturing Target

A key highlight of the project is that the MEPRO X6 Day Sights will be manufactured in India, with the company targeting 100 per cent indigenous content through a Technology Transfer (ToT) agreement with Meprolight, Israel.

Under the agreement, RRP Defense has acquired the technology, manufacturing know-how and exclusive rights to manufacture the MEPRO X6 for the Indian market. The sights have already been selected by the Indian Army as the dedicated daytime optic for its Negev Light Machine Guns and will be supplied to the Army through Bharat Electronics Limited.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the development, Rajendra Chodankar, Founder & Chairman of RRP Group, said: "This achievement is much more than a business success for us—it is the realization of a vision we have pursued with unwavering commitment. Bringing world-class electro-optical technology to India through our partnership with Meprolight and earning the confidence of Bharat Electronics Limited to manufacture these systems for our Armed Forces is a matter of immense pride.

Every MEPRO X6 sight produced in India reflects our belief that the nation should possess the capability to design, manufacture, and sustain critical defence technologies on its own. As we move towards targeted 100% indigenous manufacturing, we are not just building products; we are contributing to a stronger, self-reliant India and supporting the vision of Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat."
