Persistent Systems Shares Jump 5% On Monday As Company Expands Eastern Europe Presence To Strengthen AI-Led Transformation Capabilities

On Monday's morning session, Indian equity benchmarks traded lower, with the benchmark Nifty 50 index declining 0.10 per cent to 23,524.85. IT stocks remained in focus amid expansion initiatives and AI-led transformation opportunities. In this segment, Persistent Systems share price traded at Rs 5,471.05 on June 1, 2026, up 5.21 per cent from the previous close, after the company announced plans to expand its Eastern European presence through the integration of a specialised software engineering team from Estonia-based Concise.

Persistent Expands European Delivery Network

Persistent Systems announced the signing of an agreement to integrate a specialised team of more than 90 professionals from Concise, a Tallinn-headquartered software engineering and IT consulting company. Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to strengthen Persistent's European nearshore delivery network and enhance its ability to support enterprises undertaking large-scale digital infrastructure modernisation and AI-led transformation initiatives.

The company stated that the expansion will establish strategic delivery centres in Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia, broadening its Eastern European and nearshore delivery footprint.

Focus On AI, Cloud And Digital Infrastructure

Upon completion, the transaction is expected to strengthen Persistent's capabilities across AI-led product engineering, distributed systems and cloud-native technologies. The integrated team brings expertise supporting mobility, logistics, smart infrastructure, payments and connected ecosystems globally.

The company noted that enterprises are increasingly investing in AI-enabled operations and modern digital infrastructure, driving demand for partners capable of modernising core systems, supporting governance requirements and delivering services at a global scale. Persistent said it continues to invest in strategic delivery hubs, advanced platform capabilities and specialised AI expertise to address this growing demand.

Estonia To Strengthen Nearshore Delivery Model

Persistent highlighted Estonia's advanced digital ecosystem and strong technology talent base as key reasons behind the expansion. The new delivery centres in Tallinn and Tartu are expected to enhance the company's regional engagement capabilities while supporting AI-led transformation projects across Europe and other strategic global markets.

The expansion is also expected to strengthen Persistent's relationship with a strategic customer in the enterprise mobility segment and deepen its expertise in managing large-scale digital environments.
