Eventually, the Nifty 50 closed below the 25,000 mark, down 143.05 points or 0.57 per cent, while the Sensex declined by 501.52 points or 0.61 per cent.

Selling pressure was broad-based—the Nifty Bank fell nearly 1 per cent, and the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 ended lower by 0.70 per cent and 0.82 per cent, respectively.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corpn Ltd traded with a strong price volume breakout as the stock closed at Rs 429.4, up 13.18 per cent from its previous close of Rs 379.4. It touched a high of Rs 443.1 during the day with a traded volume of about 4.72 crore shares. The stock has delivered returns of 89.51 per cent from its 52‑week low.

Garuda Construction and Engineering Ltd recorded a price volume breakout with a close at Rs 165, registering a 9.93 per cent gain from the previous close of Rs 150.1. It reached a high of Rs 180, with a traded volume of nearly 4.66 crore shares. The stock has given multibagger returns of 114.15 per cent from its 52‑week low.
