Renewable Energy Company Adds 150 MW Solar Capacity in Rajasthan, Total Capacity Crosses 10,276 MW

NTPC Green Energy said that 150 MW of Solar capacity, part of a larger 300 MW solar project, has been declared under commercial operation with effect from April 18, 2026. The project is located in Rajasthan and is owned by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Ltd, the joint venture between NTPC Green Energy Ltd and ONGC.

With this development, the current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Ltd Group stands at 10,126.40 MW as of March 31, 2026. Following the addition, the group’s total installed capacity will rise to 10,276.40 MW.

The commissioning marks a continued expansion of the company’s renewable energy portfolio, strengthening its position in India’s clean energy sector. The remaining 150 MW capacity from the project is expected to be operationalised in due course.

The stock was quoted at Rs 109.91, up Rs 1.12 or 1.03 per cent, as of 10:11 IST. It opened at Rs 108.80 compared to the previous close of Rs 108.79. During the session, the stock touched an Intraday high of Rs 111.84 and a low of Rs 108.61, indicating moderate volatility in early trade. On a performance basis, the stock has delivered a year-to-date return of 15.24 per cent, while the one-year gain stands at 1.36 per cent.
