Sterlite Technologies Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

Sterlite Technologies reported its highest-ever quarterly financial performance in Q1 FY27. Revenue from continuing operations surged 87.44 per cent YoY to Rs 1,910 crore, compared with Rs 1,019 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. EBITDA jumped 183.57 per cent YoY to Rs 397 crore from Rs 140 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 20.8 per cent from 13.7 per cent a year ago.

The company's profit after tax (PAT) climbed sharply to Rs 197 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 10 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting a 1,870 per cent YoY increase. The strong performance was driven by robust demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure solutions, an improved product mix, and higher contribution from the data centre business.

Record Order Book and Key Wins

STL's open order book reached a record Rs 18,618 crore at the end of the quarter, supported by several large contract wins. During the quarter, the company secured a multi-year USD 1.11 billion (over Rs 10,000 crore) contract to supply optical connectivity products for next-generation AI data centres. It also won multiple hyperscaler orders worth more than US$100 million for its Neuralis AI data centre portfolio and received a strategic order to supply long-haul high-density micro-cables to a major connectivity infrastructure provider.

Net Debt-Free Balance Sheet

Sterlite Technologies reported a net debt-free balance sheet and a net cash position of Rs 483 crore as of June 30, 2026, supported by the Rs 1,500 crore raised through its Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), the proceeds of which were reflected in the company's cash and cash equivalents as of the quarter-end. While the share allotment under the QIP was completed subsequent to the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the funds had already been received before the quarter-end. Following the strengthening of its balance sheet and credit profile, CRISIL revised its rating outlook to 'Stable', while ICRA upgraded the company's long-term credit rating to AA (Stable)
