Shares Below Rs 100: Only Buyers Were Seen in These Stocks, Locked in Upper Circuit Today

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices are trading in red on Thursday with the Sensex down 0.92 per cent at 84,181 and the Nifty-50 down 1.01 per cent at 25,877. About 1,039 shares have advanced, 3,158 shares have declined and 170 shares have been unchanged on the BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 86,056 on November 27, 2025 and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 26,373.20 on January 05, 2026.

The broader markets were in the red territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index down 1.99 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index down 1.97 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were IDFC First Bank Ltd, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd, Ipca Laboratories Ltd and AIA Engineering Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers were Jindal Photo Ltd, Balaji Amines Ltd, Panacea Biotec Ltd and Eimco Elecon (India) Ltd.

On the sectoral front, all the indices were traded in red with BSE Commodities Index, BSE Industrials Index, BSE Energy Index, BSE Capital Goods Index, BSE Utilities Index, BSE Focused IT Index, BSE Oil & Gas Index, BSE Metals Index, BSE PSU Bank and BSE Power Index, which gained over 2 per cent each.

As of January 08, 2026, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies was approximately Rs 472 lakh crore or USD 5.25 trillion. On the same day, 113 stocks hit a 52-week high while 189 stocks touched a 52-week low.
