The broader markets were in the green territory, with the BSE Mid-cap Index up 1 per cent and the BSE Small-cap Index up 0.91 per cent.
The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices were trading positive on Thursday with the Sensex up 0.17 per cent at 74,611, and the Nifty-50 up 0.19 per cent at 22,648. About 1,911 shares have advanced, 1,926 have declined and 120 were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 75,124.80 on April 09, 2024, and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 22,783.35 on April 30, 2024.
The broader markets were in the green territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index up 1 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.91 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Trent Ltd and GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers are Auto Auto Ltd, HPL Electric & Power Ltd and TVS Electronics Ltd.
On the sectoral front, the indices were trading in mixed with the BSE Oil & Gas Index and BSE Power Index being the Top Gainers while the BSE Bankex Index and BSE Telecommunication Index were the Top Losers.
BSE-listed companies' market capitalisation is approximately - Rs 408 lakh crore or USD 4.90 trillion as of May 02, 2024. On the same day, 268 stocks hit a 52-week high while 12 stocks touched a 52-week low.
