Shares below Rs 100: Only buyers were seen in these stocks on May 08

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty-50 indices were trading mixed on Wednesday with the Sensex down 0.06 per cent at 73,466, and the Nifty-50 up 0.01 per cent at 22,302. About 2,128 shares have advanced, 1,667 have declined and 131 were unchanged on BSE. The BSE Sensex Index made a new 52-week high of 75,124.80 on April 09, 2024, and the NSE Nifty-50 Index made a new 52-week high of 22,794.70 on May 03, 2024.

The broader markets were in the green territory, with the BSE Mid-Cap Index up 0.78 per cent and the BSE Small-Cap Index up 0.50 per cent. The top mid-cap gainers were Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Bharat Forge Ltd and GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd. In contrast, the top small-cap gainers are Sasken Technologies Ltd, Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd and H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd.

On the sectoral front, the indices were trading in mixed with the BSE Capital Goods Index and BSE Oil & Gas Index being the Top Gainers while the BSE Financial Services Index and BSE Bankex Index were the Top Losers.

BSE-listed companies' market capitalisation is approximately - Rs 401 lakh crore or USD 4.83 trillion as of May 08, 2024. On the same day, 154 stocks hit a 52-week high while 31 stocks touched a 52-week low.
