Stocks of housing finance gain momentum in 2021

The markets soared today by crossing the 52,000 mark and gained 382.95 points. Sensex ended at 52,232.43 levels while Nifty closed at 15,690.35 levels, which are up by 114.15 points. With a positive trend shown by the markets, the investors are in the hope of exploring the untapped opportunities in the market.

During this roller-coaster ride drive by the markets, there were some housing finance stocks, which managed to shine in 2021. On average, these stocks gave a 20 per cent return, surpassing the 8.68 per cent YTD returns given by Sensex. The housing finance companies witnessed a pickup in demand during the last two-quarters of FY21 and are likely to register further growth.  

The top stock in the list is PNB Housing Finance, which gave 88.42 per cent returns on a YTD basis whereas 63.86 per cent returns in a month. It is followed by Parshwanath Corporation and Repco Home Finance that gave returns of 77.35 per cent and 53.44 per cent, respectively on a YTD basis.
