Frontline equity indices finished about half a per cent lower on Wednesday, February 21, ending the six-day winning streak. Selling pressure was witnessed in IT and financial shares, though buying on some metal counters lent some support.
The top Nifty gainers of the day were Tata Steel Ltd, which rose 2.09 per cent or 2.95 points to trade at Rs 144 at the close. State Bank Of India added 1.45 per cent or 11 points to end at Rs 771.10 and IndusInd Bank Ltd was up 0.72 per cent or 10.80 points to Rs 1,515 in late trade.
