52-week high refers to the highest market price of a given stock over a one year period.
Indian benchmark equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 closed Wednesday's choppy session positively, extending their winning streak for the fourth consecutive session. Sensex finished 110.58 points or 0.14 per cent higher at 80,956.33 level.
The NSE Nifty50 ended the day at 24,467.45 level, up 10.30 points or 0.04 per cent.
Interestingly, HDFC Bank, a key index heavyweight, closed at a record high of Rs 1,860 on Wednesday, after hitting its 52-week high of Rs 1,865 during intraday trading. The bank single-handedly added 217 points to the BSE Sensex. Without its contribution, the markets might have ended in the red.
