RRP Defense Secures BEL Purchase Order

RRP Defense stated that the order involves the supply of high-precision germanium lenses used in critical infrared and thermal imaging applications for Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). The contract value stands at approximately Rs 29.8 crore.

The company will design, engineer and customise the germanium lenses as per BEL’s technical and operational requirements for advanced defence applications. Germanium lenses are key components used in thermal imaging and infrared sensing systems due to their ability to efficiently transmit infrared radiation.

These lenses are widely used in thermal cameras, surveillance systems, weapon sights, target acquisition systems and electro-optical platforms deployed across defence and strategic sectors. The company stated that such optical elements form the core architecture of advanced electro-optic systems and play an important role in imaging precision, target detection and operational performance during low-visibility and night-time operations.

Execution Timeline

The company stated that the order will be executed in phases. Initially, sample quantities will be supplied before commencement of bulk deliveries. Thereafter, the first lot is scheduled for delivery within 8–10 weeks from the date of receipt of the purchase order, followed by phased monthly deliveries extending up to December 2026.

The order was awarded by Bharat Electronics Limited, a Government of India enterprise engaged in defence electronics manufacturing.

Regulatory Disclosure

RRP Defense clarified that neither the promoter nor promoter group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. The company also stated that the transaction does not fall under related party transactions.

The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
