On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.10 per cent, power zoomed by 0.19 per cent, and auto surged by 0.22 per cent.

Meanwhile, Nesco Ltd, Afcons Infrastructure Ltd and Jaiprakash Associates Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in the pre-opening session today.

 

Nesco Ltd, an S&P BSE company, surged 10.24 per cent to trade at Rs 1,141.00 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces. 

Afcons Infrastructure Ltd, an S&P BSE company, gained 3.72 per cent to trade at Rs 288.85 apiece. Afcons Infrastructure Ltd has received an arbitral award of Rs 335.50 crore in its favour from the Arbitral Tribunal in its proceedings against Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The award includes a principal amount of Rs 152.25 crore and pre-award and pendente lite interest of Rs 183.25 crore. The company said the award is expected to have a positive impact on its financial position, subject to UPEIDA not challenging the award within the stipulated period.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd, an S&P BSE company, rose 2.39 per cent to trade at Rs 67.20 apiece. The company has not made any significant announcements of late. Hence, the rally in the share price could be driven purely by the market forces.
