At the pre-opening bell, the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex opened in green with a gain of 122 points or 0.14 per cent.
On the sectoral front, in the pre-opening session, metals jumped by 0.39 per cent, power zoomed by 0.08 per cent, and auto surged by 0.30 per cent.
Meanwhile, Orient Cement Ltd, Sanghvi Movers Ltd and Garware Technical Fibres Ltd emerged as the Top Gainers of BSE in today’s session.
Orient Cement Ltd, an S&P BSE Group A company, surged 7.48 per cent to trade at Rs 176.10 apiece. Orient Cement Limited said its board has approved a scheme to merge the company with Ambuja Cements Limited, subject to regulatory and NCLT approvals. The amalgamation involves no cash consideration, and eligible Orient Cement shareholders will receive 33 Ambuja Cements equity shares of face value Rs 2 each for every 100 Orient Cement shares held.
Sanghvi Movers Ltd, an S&P BSE Group A company, jumped 6.61 per cent to trade at Rs 370.00 apiece. Sanghvi Movers Limited on December 22, 2025, informed the stock exchanges that its material subsidiary, Sangreen Future Renewables Private Limited, has secured large work orders aggregating Rs 428.72 crore from various domestic Independent Power Producers. The orders pertain to EPC services for a 270.6 MW wind balance-of-plant (BOP) project, covering civil foundations, Logistics, WTG installation, internal power evacuation works and commissioning-related approvals, and are scheduled to commence from Q3 FY26 with completion by Q1 FY28.
