Subsidiary Signs MoU for Rs 6,200 Crore Semiconductor Project
Paras Defence and Space Technologies informed the stock exchanges that its wholly owned subsidiary, Paras Semiconductors Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, acting through the MP State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSeDC).
Under the agreement, Paras Semiconductors and MPSeDC will collaborate by integrating their respective expertise and resources to facilitate the establishment of a greenfield advanced Integrated Circuit (IC) Packaging OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facility in Madhya Pradesh.

Proposed Investment of Around Rs 6,200 Crore
The company said the proposed facility will be developed in the Indore-Ujjain region of Madhya Pradesh with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 6,200 crore. The plant will undertake advanced semiconductor packaging operations, including 3D heterogeneous integration, 2.5D/3D advanced packaging, hybrid bonding, ultra-high-density fan-out packaging, chiplet integration, wafer bumping, flip-chip assembly, testing and reliability services.
The proposed facility is expected to strengthen India's semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and support the country's objective of building domestic capabilities across the semiconductor value chain.
Strategic Significance
The proposed OSAT facility represents a major step in Paras Defence's diversification into the semiconductor sector. OSAT facilities play a critical role in the semiconductor manufacturing process by carrying out chip assembly, packaging and testing before integrated circuits are supplied to end users.
The project also aligns with the Government of India's ongoing push to develop a domestic semiconductor ecosystem through large-scale investments in chip manufacturing, packaging and electronics manufacturing.
