To commemorate the milestone, TVS Motor held a special factory rollout ceremony at its manufacturing facility in the presence of K N Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, Peyman Kargar, President – International Business, along with employees and other dignitaries.
Launched as the first Africa-focused motorcycle product developed from India, the TVS HLX series has evolved into a leading commuter motorcycle range available in 100cc, 125cc and 150cc variants. Over the past decade, the brand has expanded its presence to more than 57 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
The company stated that the TVS HLX series has played an important role in improving mobility and supporting livelihoods in rural and semi-urban regions. In several African markets, the motorcycles are widely used for last-mile connectivity and commercial Taxi operations, making them a dependable source of income for millions of users.
Commenting on the achievement, K N Radhakrishnan said the 5 million sales milestone reflects the trust customers have placed in the HLX brand over the past 13 years. He noted that the motorcycle's durability, reliability and low maintenance costs have helped it emerge as a preferred mobility solution in multiple international markets.
Peyman Kargar said the TVS HLX brand has established itself as a trusted global mobility platform known for its durability and value proposition. He added that increasing market share and strong customer acceptance across Africa and other international regions continue to support the brand’s growth momentum.
The TVS HLX portfolio currently comprises six models: TVS HLX Plus, TVS HLX 125, TVS HLX 125 5 Gear, TVS HLX 150, TVS HLX 150 X and TVS HLX 150 F. According to the company, the diversified lineup enables it to address evolving mobility needs in markets where personal transportation penetration remains relatively low.
The brand is further supported by an extensive service and spare-parts network, as well as a large community of TVS-trained technicians across international markets, helping ensure long-term reliability and customer satisfaction.
