Sensex Holds Onto Morning Gains, Capital Goods Shines

Indices are trading mildly positive as Capital Goods and Auto helped hit push at a higher level. At the current hour the CNX Nifty is trading higher by 8 points at 6803 and Sensex is up by 32 points at 22734. The market breadth is positive with 1831 shares in green and 1507 shares in red. Asian markets are also in the positive zone.
After seeing positive opening, the indices have managed to hold their gain in mid-session. At present the Nifty is up by 8 points at 6803 and Sensex is 32 points higher at 22734. The indices are up in the range of 0.14%-0.11%.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side at this hour. On the NSE, 1831 shares are in the green and 1507 shares are in the red.
Top 5 Nifty Gainers: DLF is leading the gainers list, up by 3.28%. Other stocks trading higher include Tata Power, Tata Motors, Cairn India and BHEL.
Top 5 Nifty Losers: Sun Pharma is down by 2.53% so far, followed by M&M, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra and Dr Reddy’s Labs.
On sectoral indices, 10 out of 13 sectoral indices have gone into the uptrend. Capital Goods and Auto are up by 167 and 86 points respectively, while, Bankex and Metals also showing some gains. However, Healthcare is down by 121 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are also in the positive note.
The Asian markets remained in the green in mid-session as well. Hang Seng is trading up by 343 points, and Shanghai Composite and Taiwan Weighted are nominally higher. Nikkei has moved up by 1 points.
Buzzer: Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, has gained around 7.91% and made an intraday and 52 week high of Rs 204.40.If the stock closes above this level, may see up move in further trading session.
Nifty Futures is surging and trading at the technical level of 6850 if it beaks today’s high may see closing near 6870 level.
