Dalal Street In A Cheery Mood, Sensex Zoom’s To 25000 In Morning Trade

The oath taking ceremony of India’s next Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put the markets in the fast lane today as both Nifty as Sensex rallied to go up by 1.45% in the morning trade. At this point of hour the Nifty index is higher by 102 points at 7469 and the Sensex is galloping forward by 365 points to trade at 25059. All the major indices are trading in the green zone with Capital goods leading the queue with 502 points.
The Indian markets opened in gains this morning, and are currently trading strong, positive and on a firm footing. Both Sensex and Nifty are up by 1.45%. Nifty is trading up by 102 points at 7469 and Sensex is at 25059 up by 365 points. Capital Goods and Auto stocks have pulled the headline indices northward.
The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side. On the NSE, 2452 shares are trading in gains and 1084 shares are down, while 203 shares remain unchanged.
Top Nifty Gainers: M&M is the top gainer so far, and is trading higher by 4.80%, followed by Ambuja Cements, Coal India, Grasim and Maruti Suzuki.
Top Nifty Losers: Asian Paints is down 1.08%. Hindalco, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Cipla and Lupin are among the other stocks seeing losses.
All sectoral indices are trading in green. Capital Goods is seeing the strongest gains, up by 502 points, Auto has gained 412 points and Metals is 252 points higher. Bankex is also trading higher by 221 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are up by 188 points and 152 points respectively.
Global Markets are giving out positive cues this morning. Nikkei is up by 107 points. Hang Seng is trading down by 10 points. Taiwan and the Shanghai Composite were also trading positive this morning.
Buzzer: The stock of Orissa Minerals Development Company has touched Rs 4604.45, gaining 10% and hitting the 52 week high mark.
Nifty is currently trading at 7491.
