Uday Kotak on Forbes list of most powerful financier

Uday Kotak, a name synonymous with private banking success stories in India, has been identified as the sole Indian in  Forbes' list of 40 of the most powerful people in the financial world. The list published by Forbes ranked Blackstone Group's CEO Stephen Schwarzman as the most powerful finance leader globally. 

While Uday Kotak's name in the final list of top 40 of the  most powerful people in finance world may not surprise many, but what does come out glaringly is the fact that he is the only Indian in the coveted list. 

57 year old Uday Kotak  with a net worth of about $7.1 billion is ranked 33rd  in the list. The Forbes list of 'Money Masters : The Most Powerful People In The Financial World'  ranks Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan at 3rd place, Warren Buffet at 4th, Llyod Blankfein, chairman of Goldman sachs at 9th place and chief of Soros Fund management  George Soros  at 10th place.

Forbes suggests that the list of 40 financiers dominates the finance world and the candidates on the list are included after studying criterion  like net worth , assets under management , three -year track records and influence on markets. 

Uday Kotak also ranks as 7th richest in India . Mukesh Ambani (1), Dilip Sanghvi (2), Azim Premji (3), Shiv Nadar (4), Cyrus Poonawalla (5) and Laxmi Mittal (6) are few names that are ranked higher than Kotak Mahindra Bank's chief Uday Kotak  on the basis of net worth.
