Reliance Jio: Telecom battle continues

Reliance Jio will start offering tariff plans from April. Jio's Happy New Year offer, which offers free voice and data services, lapses on March 31.

Jio will match the highest selling tariffs with other leading telecommunications and will also provide 20 per cent more data in each of these plans. All domestic voice calls to other networks will be free across India, to any network. There will be no roaming charges, no hidden charges and no blackout days.

Reliance Jio has crossed the 100 million customer mark in just 170 days. India stood at top position in the world for mobile internet usage. Jio carries 5.5 crore hours of video daily on its network. It also presents 10 lakh Jio retail partners. Reliance Jio have witnessed more than 200 crore minutes of voice and video calls being made every day. Its customers consumed more than 100 GB data in January. Jio has successfully managed to add seven customers, every single second since its launch.

The share prices of Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular declined by 2.6 per cent and trading at Rs 365.9. Idea Cellular also reduced by 0.78 per cent to Rs 107.85. Meanwhile, Reliance Industries’ share price increased by 1.33 per cent and is trading at Rs 1,079.65 in an intraday basis.
