Tata Motors shares drop 3% on JLR's dip in UK sales

The share price of Tata Motors dropped  by about 3 per cent in intra-day trade on Tuesday after Jaguar Land Rover reported subdued UK sales growth.


The share price of Tata Motors dropped  by about 3 per cent in intra-day trade on Tuesday after Jaguar Land Rover reported subdued UK sales growth.

In May, the sales of the luxury cars Jaguar and Land Rover fell by about 7.8 per cent to 8,813 units as compared to 8,880 units in the corresponding month last year.

The sales of Jaguar in UK dipped by 1 per cent to 2,564 units, while the sales of Land Rover fell by about 10.7 per cent to 5,619 units as compared to the year ago month.

Tata Motors was trading intra-day at Rs 460.95, down by 3.57 per cent on the BSE on Tuesday. However, the scrip had opened higher at Rs 482.65, an increase of Rs 4.65 or 0.96% over Monday's close of Rs 478.
