RIL, ICICI Bank and M&M lift Sensex; Lupin top Sensex gainer

The BSE Sensex traded volatile on Wednesday and managed to close in the green at 31245.56, with gains of 35 points. Nifty inched up by 24.30 points to close at 9637.60.

Lupin was the top Sensex gainer, up by 3.82 per cent. M&M moved up by 2.24 per cent and ONGC closed up by 1.69 per cent.
ITC was the top Sensex loser, slipping 1.79 per cent followed by Infosys that was down by 0.98 per cent. Wipro was down by 0.90 per cent.
BSE FMCG was the top sectoral index loser, slipping 0.62 per cent.
BSE IT index closed down by 0.50 per cent and BSE Telecom index closed in the red, down marginally by 0.02 per cent.
Among sectoral indices, BSE Realty index was the top gainer as it gained 1.54 per cent. BSE Metal inched up by 1.24 per cent. BSE Oil & Gas gained 0.88 per cent while BSE Capital Goods index gained 0.79 per cent.
There were 19 Sensex stocks advancing and 12 stocks declining for the benchmark index.
