Post Market Summary
The Indian markets end the day on a negative note. Sensex ended at 18,721 down 136 points. Nifty has ended down 44 points at 5,616. On a sectoral basis Realty index is the main dragger for day as its ended the day with a loss of 2.54 per cent. This was followed by IT, Teck and Metal indices ending the day with a decline of more than one and half percentage points. FMCG, Consumer Durable and Oil & Gas indices ended the day in green. Market breadth is negative with 1291 advances as against 1568 declines in BSE. On the global front, European stocks fell for a second day as concern grew that the region’s debt crisis will spread to Italy and China’s inflation surged to a three-year high. Asian shares and U.S. index futures slid.
