Markets may open fairly positive, surrounded by positive vibes of global peers

The Indian markets after opening with a gap-down traded in negative terrain for the most part of the trading session on Friday, however, in the last leg of trade erasing all of their initial losses indices ended almost flat. The broader indices ended mix with Mid-cap index fell 0.28% and the Small-cap index gained 0.38%. The breadth indicated that the overall health of the market was negative. 

The majority of European markets moved lower on Friday. The French CAC 40 Index and the German DAX Index slipped by 0.22% and 0.17%, respectively, while the FTSE 100 of the UK plunged over 1%. 

The US’ stock markets finished in the green on Friday, with the Dow and S&P 500 registering a new record closing highs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied 65 points to close at 22,268. The Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 19 points to 6,448 and the S&P 500 rose 5 points to 2,500 mark.  
 
Asian stock indexes started the week on a positive note, led by gains in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng which has surged 0.91% followed by China’s Shanghai Composite which has gained 0.47%. While the Japan’s Nikkei 225 remained closed today. 

The Indian equities markets may zoom higher on the back of positive cues from Asian peers. The Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange have gained 51 points to trade at 10,145.
