Nifty Nears 6100 Mark

The Indian markets opened on a positive note in today’s morning session. The global markets were also seen in a positive light. The Nifty opened with a positive bias of 44 points at 6079 and Sensex was up by 157 points at 20,316. Both the indices opened up in the range of 0.79%-0.78%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side in the morning session. On the NSE, 1718 shares are trading in gains and 1580 shares are down.

Top Nifty Gainers: BHEL is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 2.1%, followed by Bank Of Baroda, PNB, Kotak Mahindra and NMDC.

Top Nifty Losers: Asian Paints is the top loser for today’s morning session, down by 1.5% followed by HDFC, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel and Ambuja Cement.

On the sectoral front, 12 out of the 13 sectors are trading in the green zone. Bankex was the top gainer, trading up by 187 points, followed by Capital Goods and Oil and Gas, up by 110 points and 105 points respectively. Metals were also trading on a positive note, up by 90 points. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps were up by 30 points.

On the global front, the Asian shares are trading with a positive sentiment. The Hang Seng market is the top gainer for today’s morning session, up by 491 points. The Nikkei market is also trading on a positive note, up by 113 points, followed by Shanghai Composite, KOSPI and Taiwan Weighted.

Buzzers: Bank Of Baroda opened with a positive sentiment, up by 3.2%. It crossed a major hurdle at Rs 605 and made a new high at Rs 609. Above this level, we may see a move up to Rs 615 in the next few trading sessions.

Nifty broke the 6075 level in the opening session and if it sustains at the current level, it may cross the 6100 level.
