Market Holds Morning Gains; Banking And Capitals Goods Trading in Green

After seeing a positive opening, the indices have managed to hold their gain in mid-session. The major participants are in Banking, Capitals goods and FMCG segment. At present, the Nifty is up by 42 points at 6135 and Sensex is 119 points higher at 20655. The indices are up in the range of 0.57%-0.71%.

The advance-decline ratio is on the positive side at this hour. On the NSE, 1285 shares are in the green and 1121 shares are in the red.

Top 5 Nifty Gainers: Ambuja Cements is leading the gainers list, up by 5.47%. Other stocks trading higher include ACC, UltraTech Cement, BPCL and Axis Bank.

Top 5 Nifty Losers: Ranbaxy Labs is down by 2.34% so far, followed by Bharti Airtel, DLF, BHEL and Cipla.

After seeing a strong start, all sectors are trading in the green. Bankex and Capital Goods are up by 108 and 86 points respectively. FMCG and Metals are also showing some gain, up by 68 points and 65 points respectively. Mid-Caps and Small-Caps are also in the positive note.

The Asian markets remained in the green in mid-session. Nikkei is trading up by 416 points, followed by Hang Seng, which is trading up by 174 points. The Taiwan index and KOSPI and are also trading in gain.

Buzzer: Ipca Laboratories has gained around 3.53% to Rs 875 and made an intraday high of Rs 879.90. The stock is trading above its major support and also hit 52 week high. If the stock closes above this level, it may see up move.

The Nifty Futures sustain at crucial support levels and trade at 6145. While sustaining this level can lead to some recovery, failure to do so will result in more losses on the index.
