Following the commissioning, TPREL’s renewable utility capacity stands at 12.3 GW. About 7 GW is operational, including 5.7 GW of solar capacity and 1.3 GW of wind capacity. A further 5.3 GW is under various stages of implementation, comprising 2.2 GW of solar and 3.1 GW of wind projects.
The company expects the capacity under implementation to be commissioned in phases over the next six to 24 months. Its renewable-energy solutions serve utility requirements as well as datacentres, communications, information technology, petrochemicals, steel, automobile, fast-moving consumer goods and biotechnology sectors.
TPREL said its renewable expansion supports clean-energy development and contributes to India’s objective of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The Tata Steel project illustrates the use of captive solar assets to supply industrial demand while increasing renewable generation capacity.
