Aastha Spintex Bags ₹25 Crore Order, Enters New Fabric Segment

Aastha Spintex has received a non-cancellable Rs 25 crore order from JSK Textile for about 750 MT of greige fabric, creating a new product avenue beyond its established cotton yarn and bale business.

Key Takeaways

Aastha Spintex Ltd has secured a long-term, non-cancellable order worth about Rs 25 crore from JSK Textile LLP of Halvad, Gujarat, for manufacturing and supplying around 750 metric tonnes of greige fabric. The contract marks the company’s entry into the fabric segment, broadening an operating profile that has historically been dependent largely on cotton yarn and cotton bales.

The order, covered under Contract No. 260828 dated September 24, 2026, has an aggregate value of about Rs 24.89 crore excluding GST and will be executed over two years on an ex-mill basis. Execution is expected to commence within the next two months with an initial supply of 30 MT. Supplies for the balance quantity will follow after quality approval, making delivery performance and product acceptance important conditions for the full execution of the contract.

The contract value is equivalent to about 5.6 per cent of Aastha Spintex’s FY26 revenue from operations of Rs 442.64 crore. While the order is spread over two years rather than booked immediately, it provides a defined volume pipeline at a time when the company is seeking to widen its product mix and improve utilisation of its existing manufacturing infrastructure.

Aastha Spintex said the additional fabric volumes are expected to support higher capacity utilisation, operating efficiencies and better absorption of fixed costs. This could be particularly relevant for a spinning-led textile manufacturer, where raw-material costs, plant utilisation and product realisations can significantly influence profitability.

The move into greige fabric also addresses a strategic gap in the company’s existing business. In its FY26 annual report, Aastha Spintex stated that its revenue was largely dependent on cotton yarn and cotton bales, with limited presence in value-added fabrics or garments. Greige fabric, which is unfinished woven or knitted fabric before dyeing and processing, allows the company to participate further along the textile value chain without necessarily moving into the more processing-intensive finished-fabric or apparel categories.

The company operates an integrated cotton processing and spinning business from Halvad in Gujarat, with a spindle capacity of 25,920 as of March 31, 2026. Its location in a major cotton and textile ecosystem may support sourcing and manufacturing operations, although production remains concentrated at a single location. The new order comes from a customer in the same Halvad region.

Aastha Spintex reported revenue growth of 26.05 per cent to Rs 442.64 crore in FY26, although EBITDA margin moderated to 12.18 per cent from 14.48 per cent a year earlier amid higher material and other operating costs. Its profit after Tax rose marginally to Rs 23.74 crore, while PAT margin declined to 5.36 per cent from 6.69 per cent. The fabric order could help improve the business mix and fixed-cost absorption, though the eventual financial contribution will depend on execution, realisations and input-cost conditions.

The company remains exposed to fluctuations in cotton availability and prices, which are affected by monsoon conditions, crop output, commodity cycles and domestic and international demand. Competition in the cotton textile industry is also price-intensive, while the balance quantity under the new contract remains subject to quality approval.

As of 2:08 pm on September 24, 2026, Aastha Spintex shares were trading at Rs 80.82, down 9.99 per cent from the previous close of Rs 89.79. The stock was about 40.3 per cent below its 52-week high of Rs 135.45 and around 10.7 per cent above its 52-week low of Rs 73.01.

For Aastha Spintex, the immediate milestone is the scheduled initial 30 MT dispatch. Successful quality approval and subsequent supplies will determine whether the order translates into a durable entry into the fabric segment and a broader customer-product base.
