ACME Solar Holdings Limited, through its various subsidiaries, has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System capacity. With this, the company's total commissioned BESS capacity now stands at 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh, out of a total planned BESS capacity of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh across these Special Purpose Vehicles. The newly commissioned projects are located in the state of Rajasthan and are connected with the existing operational Inter-State Transmission System. These projects will operate on a merchant basis, generating an additional revenue stream through price differentials between peak and non-peak demand hours.
Two Subsidiaries Drive the Latest Commissioning Milestone
The 155 MW capacity addition has been achieved through two subsidiaries of ACME Solar Holdings. ACME Suryodaya Private Limited commissioned 95 MW in the fourth phase of its project in Jaisalmer, taking its total commissioned capacity to 171 MW out of the planned 285 MW.
In addition, ACME Surya Power Private Limited commissioned 60 MW in the first phase of its project in Bikaner, out of a total planned capacity of 250 MW. Both projects are scheduled to begin commercial operations on March 25, 2026.
How These Projects Will Operate
Battery Energy Storage System projects are built to enhance grid reliability and optimise power utilisation by charging batteries during non-peak demand periods and discharging during peak demand hours. This operational mechanism is intended to play a role in balancing energy supply and demand while contributing to overall grid stability.
