Hindalco Industries Q1 FY27 Financial Performance

Hindalco Industries reported record consolidated revenue from operations of Rs 84,825 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 64,232 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a 32 per cent year-on-year growth. Consolidated EBITDA increased 73 per cent YoY to Rs 14,989 crore from Rs 8,673 crore.

The company's profit before tax (after exceptional items) rose 65 per cent YoY to Rs 9,393 crore from Rs 5,676 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) increased 75 per cent to Rs 7,013 crore from Rs 4,004 crore. Basic earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs 31.58 from Rs 18.03 in the year-ago period.

Hindalco Industries Operational Highlights

The company achieved all-time high quarterly EBITDA across its India Aluminium, Copper and Novelis businesses. Aluminium Upstream EBITDA surged 81 per cent YoY to Rs 7,390 crore, while Copper EBITDA increased 36 per cent to Rs 918 crore. Novelis reported Adjusted EBITDA of Rs 4,875 crore, up 37 per cent, supported by the successful restart of its Oswego plant and benefits from cost optimisation initiatives.

During the quarter, Hindalco operationalised a 65 MW round-the-clock renewable energy project at Aditya Aluminium, becoming the only company in India with an operational captive round-the-clock renewable energy plant. The company also achieved 80 per cent overall waste utilisation, increased water recycling to 29 per cent, and planted 80,000 saplings during the quarter as part of its sustainability initiatives.

Management Commentary

Commenting on the results, Satish Pai, Managing Director, Hindalco Industries, said the company started FY27 on a strong note by delivering record revenue, EBITDA and PAT, with every business segment contributing meaningfully to the performance. He added that the India business achieved another record quarter, while Novelis improved profitability following the restart of the Oswego plant. The company continues to expand its upstream and downstream capacities, with projects including Aditya FRP, battery foil, battery enclosure and Inner Grooved Tube progressing as planned.
