Nykaa Q2 Profit Triples on Strong Beauty Sales and Improved Margins; Simply Nam Deal Expands Premium Makeup Portfolio
Nykaa’s consolidated net profit rose 207 per cent YoY to Rs 101 crore in Q2 FY2027 as revenue, gross merchandise value and margins improved. It also agreed to acquire an 82 per cent stake in premium makeup brand Simply Nam.
✨ Key Takeaways
Beauty remains FSN E-Commerce Ventures’ largest business, contributing more than 91 per cent of consolidated revenue in FY2026 and anchoring its omnichannel growth strategy. The Nykaa operator has now reported a sharp improvement in quarterly profitability while moving to strengthen its premium colour coSMEtics portfolio through the proposed acquisition of Simply Nam.
Consolidated net profit rose 207 per cent YoY to Rs 101 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, while revenue from operations increased 28 per cent to Rs 3,006 crore. Gross merchandise value, which measures the value of products sold through its platforms and channels, grew 30 per cent to Rs 6,151 crore.
The improvement was supported by operating leverage. Gross profit increased 31 per cent to Rs 1,382 crore, while earnings before interest, Tax, depreciation and amortisation, or EBITDA, rose 65 per cent to Rs 263 crore. EBITDA margin expanded to 8.7 per cent from 6.8 per cent in the year-earlier quarter. Profit before tax increased 168 per cent to Rs 149 crore.
Beauty gross merchandise value reached Rs 4,454 crore, with growth aided by customer additions and premiumisation among existing users. The segment’s net sales value rose 28 per cent and its EBITDA grew 51 per cent. Nykaa also expanded its store network to 338 outlets across 111 cities, adding 14 stores during the quarter, while total retail area rose 26 per cent YoY to more than 3,40,000 sq ft.
The proposed acquisition of an 82 per cent stake in Simply Nam is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Founded in 2020 by celebrity makeup artist Namrata Soni and venture studio Bozzil, the brand focuses on expert-led, professional-grade makeup formulated for Indian skin tones and climate conditions. Soni will remain involved as Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, while Bozzil co-founder Hanna Strömgren Khan will oversee the transition as Strategic Brand Custodian.
The deal extends House of Nykaa’s presence in specialised premium makeup, where brand authority, formulation credibility and creator-led education can be important differentiators. House of Nykaa reported an annualised gross merchandise value run rate of more than Rs 4,000 crore in the quarter, with net sales value rising 36 per cent YoY.
As of 3:52 p.m. on November 4, 2026, FSN E-Commerce Ventures shares were trading at Rs 355.10, up 0.31 per cent from the previous close. The company’s market capitalisation stood at about Rs 1,01,410 crore. The stock had gained 37.72 per cent over one year, compared with a 5.73 per cent decline in the BSE 500 over the same period, reflecting the market’s preference for its improving earnings trajectory and consumer-platform scale.
What This Means for Investors
The quarter supports Nykaa’s case that growth investments in customer acquisition, physical retail, owned brands and fulfilment are beginning to yield stronger operating leverage. Revenue growth of 28 per cent was accompanied by a 1.9 percentage-point expansion in EBITDA margin, indicating improved cost discipline across marketing and overheads. Simply Nam is strategically aligned with Nykaa’s premiumisation agenda and could add product differentiation within professional and high-performance makeup.
The acquisition is more relevant to Nykaa’s longer-term brand-building strategy than to near-term consolidated earnings. Execution will depend on retaining Simply Nam’s founder-led product identity while scaling distribution through Nykaa’s online, retail and content ecosystem. Investors will also watch whether rapid-delivery expansion through Nykaa Now and continued store additions sustain margins as fulfilment and operating costs rise. At about 395.93 times trailing twelve-month earnings, the valuation continues to leave limited room for a slowdown in profit growth or a setback in margin delivery.
