GMR Airports reported that its airport network handled approximately 10.63 million passengers during May 2026, representing a 6.1 per cent year-on-year increase. Domestic passenger traffic rose 7.9 per cent YoY to 8.3 million passengers, while international traffic remained largely stable at 2.4 million passengers despite disruptions caused by geopolitical developments and changing airspace conditions in certain regions. The company noted that monthly passenger traffic has consistently remained above the 10 million mark since October 2025.

The company also achieved a significant milestone in the first two months of FY27, with cumulative passenger traffic crossing 20.46 million passengers, the highest-ever level recorded by the airport operator. Domestic passenger traffic reached a record 15.8 million passengers, while international traffic stood at 4.6 million passengers. Aircraft movements also touched record levels, supported by strong domestic aviation demand.

Delhi Airport continued to be the key growth driver for the group. Passenger traffic at Delhi Airport rose 14.7 per cent YoY to 7.17 million passengers in May 2026, with domestic passenger traffic reaching a record 5.4 million passengers, the highest ever for the airport. During FY27 year-to-date, Delhi handled a record 13.8 million passengers, reinforcing its position as India's largest aviation hub. The airport also reported its highest-ever cargo throughput of approximately 1.1 lakh metric tonnes during May 2026, up 14 per cent year-on-year.

Hyderabad Airport handled approximately 2.55 million passengers during May, while Goa's Mopa Airport achieved its highest-ever year-to-date passenger traffic of around 0.82 million passengers, supported by strong domestic travel demand. The company highlighted that Mopa Airport has cumulatively handled over 16 million passengers since the commencement of operations.

Another key development disclosed by the company relates to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport in Andhra Pradesh. GMR stated that the greenfield airport project has achieved approximately 99.4 per cent overall completion as of May 31, 2026, with commissioning planned by the end of June 2026. The airport has already completed validation flight trials and is expected to become an important aviation hub in the region.

Recently, the stock has also remained in focus following the institutional transactions. According to exchange data, GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity Fund sold 19.50 crore shares, representing approximately 1.85 per cent stake, through a block deal on June 3, 2026, at an average price of Rs 97.75 per share. In a separate transaction, Goldman Sachs Trust II - Goldman Sachs GQG Partners International Opportunities Fund sold 16.27 crore shares at the same price. Combined, the two funds offloaded approximately 35.77 crore shares worth around Rs 3,497 crore, with Fidelity International Small Cap Fund emerging as a key buyer in the transaction.
